Tems wins the 65th Grammy Awards and establishes a new record.

Tems, a Nigerian Afrobeat Maestro, broke down a huge barrier on February 5th, 2023, to become the first Afrobeat Gem to win a Grammy.

This happened when she, Drake, and Future won the award for “Best Melodic Performance” after defeating the other candidates.

She won this with the song “Wait for U,” which Future, an American hip-hop legend, owns and which she and Drake were featured on to produce a wonderful melody tune.

Despite the fact that Tems was absent from the song’s music video, she received a lot of praise for the excellent vocal work she put into the song’s melody section.

She has established a new standard for successfully winning a Grammy Award and is unquestionably the first woman to achieve it in the Nigerian music industry.
